“Action Research Summer Camp 2020” – Innsbruck, Austria 15-21 June
Come experience an exciting training camp in one of the most beautiful spots on Earth
This summer, from 15 to 20 June, the University of Salzburg—in conjunction with the Fulbright Specialist Program in Austria—will offer an intensive, one-week community and action based research workshop. The program of the “Action Research Summer Camp 2020” will range from the history, theory and methods of doing engaged action research to developing individual plans along with peers and faculty. We will also be able to participate in community engagement projects including local history tours and community development efforts. Graduate credits and certificates are available.
The location —the Waldhüttl Mentlberg—was a center of Tyrolean resistance to the Nazis during WWII. Today it is a house that welcomes people from the economic and social margins. The center creates a unique space for living and learning, run by members of a small, progressive local congregation committed to liberation pedagogy. Participation in “The Camp” program will also entail cooperative meals and other opportunities to “pitch in” at the Center. Such activities help to keep the tuition and lodging VERY reasonable. The Waldhüttl regularly welcomes locals and others for leisure, cultural or garden activities and has an event stage, fire pit, pizza oven for evening activities. Just outside of Innsbruck, Austria, the natural landscape offers stunning views and outstanding hiking opportunities.
